ABSTRACT

Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting is a technology employed for storing energy from the wasted kinetic energy in the environment, industry, animal, and human body. Piezoelectric materials are type materials that change their physical properties in a specific manner in response to a stimuli input. Piezoelectricity is a dual-way property. Direct piezoelectricity is the electrical field generation due to the mechanical stress (sensor or generator). In contrast, reverse piezoelectricity is the mechanical deformation due to the external electrical field (actuator or motor). 
This Ph.D. thesis aims to progress the state-of-the-art in piezoelectric energy harvesting. This Ph.D. project contributes to more accurate modeling techniques and the integration of piezoelectric harvesters into practical applications.
