The success story of A Healthy Match continues to unfold, with this year's matchmaking event reaching unprecedented heights. From its humble beginnings, with just 20 participants in its inaugural years, to now boasting over 250 attendees and 25 companies represented in 2024, the popularity of this job-promoting networking extravaganza targeted to health science graduates has skyrocketed among companies.
But what sets A Healthy Match apart isn't just its impressive numbers; it's the tangible impact it has on shaping the futures of our graduating students for the labour market. This year, the event served as a catalyst for countless success stories, and Louise Pape-Haugaard, Vice Head of Department for Education at the Department of Health Science and Technology is delighted by the concrete examples of how it guides our graduates into the job market.
“A Healthy Match is a vital component of our effort to equip our students for success in the fiercely competitive job market. Through this platform, our students not only have the opportunity to engage directly with leading companies in the Life Science sector, but also gain a deeper understanding of their own strengths and how they can contribute to future workplaces. A Healthy Match represents a pivotal milestone in our mission to train health science graduates for the future," says Louise Pape-Haugaard.
Graduating students and companies discover each other
One of the most positive aspects of the arrangement, according to Louise Pape-Haugaard, is that A Healthy Match serves as a platform for mutual discovery. Our students gain a deeper understanding of their own skills and what they can offer prospective employers while also gaining valuable insight into the companies. Louise Pape-Haugaard notes that companies in turn gain invaluable insights into the diverse talents our graduates possess, dispelling any misconceptions about narrow fields of expertise.
“It's heartening to witness how companies are awakening to the wealth of essential skills present in all our graduates, transcending traditional educational boundaries,” says the vice department head.
“A Healthy Match is a journey towards a brighter, more inclusive future for our graduates and the companies eager to welcome them aboard,” she adds.
