Below, read more about some of the artists you can enjoy at the University Party:
Jada
With her great pop ballads and soulful R&B, Jada has quickly become one of the biggest pop stars on the Danish music scene. With her personal and honest style that pushes boundaries, genres and trends, she has managed to captivate both Danish and international critics, media and not least fans. Jada has become a role model, an inspiration and the voice of an entire generation that can see themselves in her authentic music, and honest and uplifting lyrics. When Jada released her debut album I Cry A Lot in 2019, Politiken, GAFFA and Soundvenue all gave it five stars.
Zar Paulo
Zar Paulo's summer 2023 has only seen five- and six-star reviews, and the band's concerts have led critics to describe them as 'Danmarks bedste nye livenavn' [best new live name]. In February 2023, Zar Paulo announced their biggest concert series to date. A tour that takes them to 22 venues around the country.
Lamin
Lamin is fired up, both laid back and upright, and the journey to the top continues unabated. He is one of the music scene's newest and most up-and-coming names. With his critically acclaimed concerts and well-written rap lyrics, he won 'Årets Nye Navn' [New Name of the Year] at DMA 2022 and 'P3 Talentet' at P3 Guld 2022. Keep a close eye on this young artist who is catching up with the heavyweights of the underground scene and setting a new, sharp agenda for tomorrow's hip-hop scene.
ICEKIID
ICEKIID is unique in Danish music and his rise to the top shows why. When ICEKIID in 2016 began to trend with the party starter "Coco Chanel", Danish rap music was heading in another direction and to a darker place where lyrics were about "the street" and all that entails. But ICEKIID went his own way and quickly became the standard-bearer of the untested Afrobeat genre. On stage, ICEKIID is known for his energetic and critically acclaimed performances, delivering an all-out party to anyone with their dancing shoes on.
KATO
In 2007, KATO recorded his first No. 1 hit in Denmark, "My House". Although he started at the top of the charts, he had no idea of the journey he had embarked on. Since then, KATO's releases have a total of more than 40 gold and platinum certifications, and he has received 10 awards from the Danish Deejay Awards, 3 GAFFA statuettes, 1 Zulu award, and 1 statuette from the Danish Music Awards. KATO used the time during the global pandemic and lockdown period to reinvent himself as an artist. The much-needed restart is also reflected in the music. KATO has found his way back to the genre that helped kickstart his career and holds a special place in his heart: club music.
The Heat
Expect an outgoing, cool and accomplished performance from Denmark's new backing band The Heat! The Heat consists entirely of musicians who play with some of the biggest artists in Denmark. They have come together with a new take on a backing band that can play both Danish and international covers as well as back artists. The Heat has backed artists like Saint Clara, Drew Sycamore, Mads Langer and Jada.
