AAU awards honorary doctorates to five top international researchers

At the AAU Annual Celebration 2026, five honorary doctorates were awarded – one in each of the university's main areas.

At its traditional annual celebration, Aalborg University (AAU) awarded five honorary doctorates, one in each of the university's scientific main areas. This at a ceremony in Aalborg Congress and Culture Centre on Friday, 17 April.

The honorary doctorate is awarded on the recommendation of the faculties. The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities nominated two researchers, one from social sciences and one from humanities.

The award is given to highly recognized researchers who through international cooperation have strengthened scientific development at AAU.

The five new honorary doctorate recipients are:

  • Jennifer Quint, Professor, Imperial College London, UK Selected for the honorary doctorate by the Faculty of Medicine
