AAU newly confers four higher doctoral degrees

Festivities and academic milestones were on the programme at the AAU Annual Celebration 2026. During the ceremony, four higher doctoral degrees were newly conferred for research work at the highest level.

The annual celebration is one of AAU's events that marks community and academic milestones. This year, the conferment of four higher doctoral degrees was part of the ceremony at Aalborg Congress and Culture Centre on 17 April.

The higher doctorate is the highest academic degree at a Danish university. It is granted based on a doctoral dissertation that is a comprehensive, in-depth scientific work.

To receive the higher doctoral degree requires great scientific insight and professional maturity, and the dissertation must document new research results that take science a significant step forward.
